The acronym sdk is short for site designer's kit. Zencil's main sdk comes in the form of an additional toolbar which installs itself onto Dreamweaver. This set of Dreamweaver extensions allows any graphically oriented web developer to build highly functional Content Management & e-Revenue systems without complex configurations or coding.

Money: How much does a Zencil powered website cost?

• As a graphic artists — you are welcome to a free site, but of course there's a catch.  Sorry!  The catch is, your free site must be powered by Zencil.  It can not be a regular html site.  Having your own site powered by Zencil's Content Management System will transform it into a powerful selling tool, as you will be able to demonstrate the functionality to prospective clients and in doing so get them hooked on your offer.
• Beyond your free site, each project is priced based on how many Zencil features are required.  The average price of a feature (such as editable text or dynamic navigation) is $20.  The average project goes for about $150.  For greater detail you can calculate costs with this tool: Cost Calculator.

Money: How does the Revenue Share Program work?

Business Option A: Each time you add a website owner to your Zencil account you will receive two commissions after we bill them.

• 35% of the Zencil software set-up fees will be transfered to your account balance when the site is activated.
• 20% of the ongoing licensing and hosting fees will be transfered to your account after each billing cycle (monthly, quarterly or annually).

Business Option B: Each time you do a site without disclosing the owner, you will receive a discount. In this way you can deliver Zencil functionality without actually disclosing your relationship to Zencil. This is essential if you plan to white-label the functionality as your own invention.

• 17.5% discount on the set-up fees
• 10% discount on the ongoing fees.

Best of Both: You may choose between Option A or Option B on a site-by-site basis.

Skill Requirements: Will I have to write code?

With Zencil you can build a fully functional content management and/or e-Revenue system without any coding at all.  No html, no css, & certainly no PHP/MySQL.  However a working knowledge of html and css is often beneficial because you will be able to take your custom designs much further without sacrificing functionality.

System Requirements: What do I need to make this work?

• Dreamweaver 4 or better.
• Mac: Firefox web browser (free).
  Sorry, but Safari is yet unable to run all of our scripts.
• PC: Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Hosting: Do I have to host with Zencil?

No, the public version of the website does not have to be hosted with Zencil, however the editable copy of the site does need to be on a Zencil web server.  Each time a change is made to the site, our system will automatically publish those changes to an ftp location of your choosing.
